Description:

You are a strategic organizational development leader whose talents will contribute to the mission of Hillel, the largest Jewish campus organization in the world supporting 500 colleges and universities. The Washington, D.C. national headquarters seeks a highly strategic, visionary, leader who will oversee human resources and organization growth from a mission-driven, entrepreneurial, creative and futuristic perspective. The AVP of Human Resources reports directly to the Executive Vice President-USA. Desired start date: Immediate Location: Hillel's Schusterman International Center, located in the exciting, vibrant Washington, D.C. downtown business district. Convenient to Metro's red, green and yellow lines.

Duties:

Responsibilities: * Provide strategic leadership as a member of the management senior leadership team; serve as a major contributor in the areas of OD & HR combined with broad business acumen and thinking. * Collaborate in creating a corporate-wide culture, with adaptability for each Hillel campus organization to retain the environment driving their success and style. * Execute HR strategies aligned with the Hillel mission utilizing the dynamic and goal-driven, Hillel USA 2007 – 2012 Five-Year Strategic Plan: “Hillel will recruit, develop and retain highly talented professionals”. * Implement and direct Hillel’s HR SMART Goals. A sampling of goals includes impacting the professional and career path of over 600 people, executive development, implementing Hillel Success Factors and performance management tool, lead the Great Place to Work initiative, implement new talent recruiting, pipeline development and retention, which includes field executives and young talent. * Manage planning, project implementation/management, fiscal, supervisory, and other ventures as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Bachelors’ and masters’ degree; minimum 5-10 years’ recent experience in organizational development; foundation in human resources, business acumen required. * Experience with global consulting firms, leadership development, organizations devoted to a global cause, think tanks, a plus. * Past interaction with Hillel and knowledge of Jewish life. * Approximately 25% travel; flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing and fast-paced work environment.
